Gila County Offices: Please Call Ahead for Appointment

LobbyClosedCallForAppointmentThe month of May brings the predicted peak for statewide covid-19 infection and hospitalization, Gila County Government offices and departments have moved to a ‘call ahead for appointment’ policy in order to maintain social distancing -- and enhance safety for the public, and staff within more than a dozen different departments and offices, ranging from the county courts to assessor, treasurer, community development, elections and the health department.

During weekday business hours, Gila County’s knowledgeable switchboard operators at (928) 425-3231 can connect you to all offices and departments. Operators also have a list of cell numbers to reach offices or departments where staff have been directed to work from home, in accordance with the county’s own internal directives aimed at social distancing and safety.
You can also find county staff phone numbers and emails listed by department
and also A-to-Z on the county website,

"Safety and health are paramount,” said County Manager James Menlove, “so far Gila County has been fortunate to have experienced a much lower incidence of covid-19 than more populous counties in Arizona, but the past few weeks have brought confirmed cases of a few residents right here in Globe and Payson - we know covid-19 is here, and we are taking steps to contain it, while continuing to serve the public across a variety of departments and offices. Many things can be taken care of by phone, email and through our website -- but Gila County residents are also welcome to call our staff to schedule an appointment, when a visit in-person cannot be avoided.” And if a visit is necessary we will work with you to accommodate your schedule.

“Our team at Gila County Health and Emergency Management have taken the lead in coordinating our county-wide response to the pandemic; we can all be part of their winning strategy by continuing to adhere to social distancing and basic health-and-hygiene guidelines -- doing our part to slow the spread, flatten the curve, and ensure both our collective and individual health and safety.”
