Board of Supervisors Adopt Tentative Budget for Fiscal Year 2018-2019

On June 19, 2018 the Gila County Board of Supervisors adopted a tentative Fiscal Year 2018-2019 budget that is set to keep County property tax rates from increasing for the 9th consecutive year.

“We’ve listened to all the departments, and met individually with members of the board and put together a budget that I think meets the County’s goals and objectives for Fiscal Year 2018-2019,” said Gila County Manager James Menlove.

Highlights of the FY 18-19 tentative budget include:

  • No change in the County Property tax rate for the 9th consecutive year
  • Provide for a balanced budget
  • No new full time positions (FTEs); anticipated decrease in FTE’s
  • Maintain public service levels in:
    • Law Enforcement
    • Judicial
    • Landfill
    • Community Services
    • Criminal prosecution
    • Roads
    • Health Services

The Gila County Budget team will continue to meet with Elected Officials, Department heads and Board members to further examine priorities and budgeted projects, prior to final adoption of the County Budget.

Final adoption of the FY 18-19 budget is scheduled for Tuesday, July 24th at 10:00 a.m. at the Board of Supervisors Special Meeting.
