Mission Statement

The mission of the Gila County ESA is to provide and facilitate shared services and resources for improved performance and student achievement in all schools.

The Gila County Education Service Agency (GCESA) was established as a result of Arizona House Bill 2284 and the Federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2002. The Gila County ESA, operating under the auspices of the Gila County School Superintendent’s Office, has defined six areas under which it collaborates with Local Education Agencies, schools, in providing services to better serve the needs of students:

Personnel Recruitment and Retention

Information Clearinghouse

Guided by an advisory committee consisting of representatives from each school district within the county, community agencies, Gila Community College, and the County School Superintendent’s Office, each service area has a sub-committee that addresses issues falling within its goal. The term Educational Service Agency is defined in the No Child Left Behind Act of 2002 to be: “A regional public multi-service agency authorized by state statute to develop, manage and provide services or programs to local educational agencies.”
