Intergovernmental Agreements

To conserve resources, reduce procurement costs, improve timely acquisition and cost of supplies and to improve efficiency and economy of procurement, the Gila County Procurement Department has entered into several intergovernmental agreements whereby any political sub-division, state, county, city, town, etc. of the State of Arizona may be allowed by contractors awarded contracts by any such political sub-divisions to be utilized by any other such political sub-division. This process is commonly known as "piggy-backing".

INTERACTIVE PURCHASING AGREEMENT this IGA was established in 1991 with Pima County purchasing as the repository for the membership and currently has about 25 political sub-divisions as members. The membership continues to grow and all political sub-divisions are invited to join at no cost and there is no membership expiration period as long as two members wish to continue with the agreement.
