Intergovernmental Agreements
In order to conserve resources, reduce procurement costs, improve timely acquisition and cost of supplies and to improve efficiency and economy of procurement, the Gila County Purchasing Department has entered into several intergovernmental agreements whereby any political sub-division, state, county, city, town, etc. of the State of Arizona may be allowed by contractors awarded contracts by any such political sub-divisions to be utilized by any other such political sub-division. This process is commonly known as "piggy-backing". CURRENT IGAs INTERACTIVE PURCHASING AGREEMENT this IGA was established in 1991 with Pima County purchasing as the repository for the membership and currently has about 25 political sub-divisions as members.
