ADOT begins paving project on SR 260; expect delays
For Immediate Release from ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
Paving project starting on SR 260 west of Show Low
Drivers should expect narrowed lanes, reduced speed limits and delays
The Arizona Department of Transportation begins a project on Monday, April 14, to repave 10 miles of State Route 260 between Overgaard and Linden.
The $2.9 million project will include removing existing pavement and then repaving SR 260 between mileposts 321 and 331, as well as repairing the bridge deck and railings at Mortensen Wash, installing new guardrail and roadway pavement markings.
Traffic lanes will be narrowed and the speed limit will be reduced through the work zone. There will be times when flaggers and pilot cars will be used to guide vehicles through the work zone in alternating directions. During this time drivers should anticipate delays of up to 30 minutes.
Work hours will be dawn to dusk Monday through Thursday and the project is anticipated to be completed by mid-August.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
