Secretary of State Ken Bennett came to the Gila County Recorder’s office on January 6th to present the Recorder and her staff with their Election Official certificates for completing election training.

Per Arizona Revised Statutes ARS§ 16-407, “no person may perform the duties or exercise the authority of an election officer or of the clerk of the board of supervisors or the county recorder…”,  In order to have qualified personnel available at all times, the Recorder had her entire staff take the one week training and pass the test to become certified.  The result is that no matter when a voter needs assistance, there will be a qualified and certified person there to help during every election cycle.

The following employees attended the certication and passed:
  • Sadie Tomerlin Dalton
  • Dawn Michelle Caldera
  • Judy Smrdel
  • Eric Mariscal
  • Teri Berumen
