Chairman Dawson and Supervisor Pastor met with Senator McCain in Superior in Support of Resolution Land Exchange. Chairman Dawson also Stated her support for the Southern Gila County Job Corps.
 
 
 
 
 
 
On Monday, June 29, 2009, Supervisor Shirley Dawson and Supervisor Michael Pastor attended a local elected officials reception that was held for Senator John McCain at the Superior Elementary School and also a community reception immediately following at the Jr./Sr. High School. 
 
Senator McCain spoke to the audience interviewing both supporters and protestors of the Resolution Project.  He called it a taxpayer free economic stimulus project that will create some 1,400 jobs.  Supervisor Dawson had the opportunity to speak at both engagements, where she expressed why the land swap is so important to our area and the Superior area.   Resolution Copper Mine is located east of Superior and is an estimated $4 billon project
