Gila County Tobacco FreeVision Statement: For Gila County youth to be tobacco free while protecting non-smokers (including children and adults) from environmental tobacco smoke. Create healthy lifestyles, including chronic disease prevention, and providing persons living in Gila County who wish to quit using tobacco access to state-of-the-art cessions services. In collaboration with the Arizona Department of Health Services/Bureau of Tobacco and Chronic Disease Program the GILA COUNTY TOBACCO FREE ENVIRONMENTS PROGRAM PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING: Community, Schools & Youth Services: Participate in Community events/activities · Provide School Based tobacco prevention/education to include nutrition and physical activity · Recruit students 9th to 12th grade to join Program’s “Youth Coalition” · Promote interactive website for youth www.venomocity.com · Provide Arizona Youth Tobacco Hotline 1-866-342-7855 to report the sales of tobacco products to minors Worksites: · Educate and assist businesses to comply with Smoke Free Arizona Act · Provide website to report a violation or file a complaint www.smokefreearizona.org or call 1-877-429-6676 Cessation Referrals: · Promote the Arizona Smokers’ Helpline www.ashline.org · Pro-Active referrals to the Arizona Smokers’ Helpline
