Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s) Also known as STD’s.
It is the responsibility of the Gila County Health Department to: 1. Prevent the spread of disease The Office of Health Services helps to prevent the spread of STI’s by: • Provides treatment and follow-up for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea • Conducts investigations, as indicated. • Partner notification, as indicated. • Conducts surveillance. • Determines trends. • Supplies reporting forms to the local health care facilities for suspected or confirmed cases. • Forwards all reports to the State Health Department.
2. Promote healthy behaviors within the community by: • STI Counseling and screening • Family Planning clinics once a month in Payson and Globe • Parent Workshops • Educational presentations upon request at local schools
