Preparedness

  • Make a PlanWrite and rehearse family communication and reunification plans that identify a family meeting place, local emergency numbers and an “out-of-town” contact.
  • Build a Kit – Remember the 5 P's: People, Prescriptions, Papers, Pictures, Pets.  Prepare to sustain yourself and your family for three to 5 days (3-5).  Suggested kit items include first aid supplies, non-perishable food, drinking water (one gallon/per person/per day), a flashlight, batteries and a radio.
  • Be Informed – Know what to do before, during and after an emergency.
  • Get Involved – Find opportunities to support community preparedness.
