Becoming a Vendor
Gila County buys a wide variety of equipment, supplies, and services in order to provide services to our residents. If you sell a product or service that we need and if pricing is competitive, we want to hear from you.
If you are interested in becoming a Gila County vendor, please send a letter to the Gila County Procurement Department, 1400 E. Ash St., Globe, AZ, 85501. Please provide information about the commodities or service your business provides and attached a W-9 form with your taxpayer id number.
Because public money is involved, Gila County Procurement is guided in its procurement procedures by several policy mandates which include but are not limited to:
Maximize competition and provide interested and qualified vendors with the opportunity to offer their products or services to the County;
Conduct all procurement according to the Arizona State Law and Gila County Procurement Code;
Obtain the quantity and quality of materials and services at the right price and when needed.
Informal purchases are made where the County spends less than $50,000 in a year on a County-wide basis for a particular commodity or service between $5,000 and $50,000. Quotations or informal bids are solicited for these materials or services. Award of these purchases are made by purchase order to the vendor submitting the lowest responsive and responsible offer that meets the County specifications requirements.
Formal purchases are those activities that, on a County-wide basis, are over $50,000 for a given commodity or service. Invitations for Bids and Requests for Proposals will be used to make these purchases. After bids or proposals are opened, the evaluation and approval process will take place. The bids or proposals will then be presented to the Board of Supervisors.
Gila County recognizes that our local business community has a keen interest in doing business with the County and to that end, we advertise in the Arizona Silver Belt. In addition, formal bid invitations are placed on our website. To view all bid solicitations, visit the Current Bids link.
Supporting County operations is a complex responsibility. Public funds are a public trust and tax dollars must be used wisely. Gila County Procurement constantly strives to obtain maximum value for our purchases by obtaining quality goods and services that are delivered when needed.
