In 2002 voters passed Proposition 400 creating a Provisional Community College District in Gila County.  The District is governed by a 5 member board that represents the following precincts:

District No. 1 
Payson No. 1, 3, 7, 8, Pine/Strawberry

District No. 2  
Payson No. 2, 4, 5, 6, Star Valley ,Whispering Pines

District No. 3              
Gisela, Globe No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, Miami No. 1, Roosevelt, Sierra Ancha, Tonto Basin, Young, Zane Grey

 District No. 4              
Central Heights, Claypool No. 1, 2, 3, Globe No. 7, 11, Miami No. 3, 5

District No. 5              
Canyon Day, Carrizo, Christmas, East Globe, Globe No. 6, Hayden, San Carlos, Winkelman
