What is the status of the complaint I made several months ago?
First I ask for the information to check in our case management program. This will tell me where the report is from the initial Law Enforcement agency that submitted it. If there is nothing in the case management then I explain to them that we haven’t received a report at this time and that they may want to check with the officer who took the report. Without the report we are unable to start the proceedings for charging
I believe a crime was committed against me. I want to talk to the County Attorney.
Depending on where the crime took place, I direct the individual to the Law Enforcement Agency. An initial complaint needs to be taken and after they submit it to us we will review it for charging. An emergency has come up and I can’t make my court hearing. What should I do?
An approval from the assigned prosecuting attorney and court administration needs to be obtained from the defendant for the continuance. |
