WASTEWATER DEPARTMENT - SOIL EVALUATION/PERC TESTING

According to the approved Ordinance #01-2, a Soil Evaluation or Perc Test must be performed by an individual or firm that has completed the Gila County Wastewater Training and its specified prerequisite courses, is currently listed on the Gila County Contractors List, and must be witnessed by a Wastewater Department staff member in order to be valid.

As when purchasing any other service, a client should always obtain and check a prospective contractor’s qualifications and local references before making any financial commitment.

Generally, once you have hired an individual or firm to perform your soil or perc test, they will contact the appropriate Wastewater Department office to schedule the test. 

The Gila County Wastewater Department’s fee for observing the test is $150.00.  The soil or perc test must be observed by a Wastewater Department staff member to be valid.

One week prior to the scheduled test; payment, a map of the location, and proof of ownership is required to be submitted, or the date of the test may be forfeited.
