The Clerk of the Board of Supervisors is appointed by the Board and is responsible for documents received and generated by the Board of Supervisors, as well as various responsibilities related to Board actions and duties. In Gila County, the Chief Deputy Clerk of the Board of Supervisors has the responsibility of overseeing all of the administrative responsibilities of the Clerk of the Board.

The Chief Deputy Clerk prepares the agendas for the Board of Supervisors’ meetings, and writes and publishes the minutes of those meetings. The Chief Deputy Clerk also processes for the Board’s approval contracts, agreements, intergovernmental agreements, liquor licenses, special event liquor licenses, extensions of premises/patio permits, fair and wine festival licenses, bingo licenses, appointments of County boards and commissions, appointments of precinct committeemen, sells tax sale properties that have been deeded to the State of Arizona, and petitions for review of property valuation by the Board of Equalization. In addition, the Clerk and Chief Deputy Clerk assist the Board in communicating with and aiding the public.
